Don Reid!

You may recall that I recently reviewed the book O Little Town by Don Reid.  Because I am somewhat of a fan-girl (ie stalker), I sent a note to Mr. Reid via his website letting him know how much I enjoyed the book, and if he was interested he could check out my review here on Walking on Sunshine!

I will be darned if he didn't just read my e-mail, but he read my blog and e-mailed me his thoughts!  While it is always exciting to hear from a writer that I appreciate, it is truly awesome to get a note from Don Reid.  As I mentioned in my review, he is also a member of the LEGENDARY country group, The Statler Brothers.  So I am well and truly starstruck.

In his note, Mr. Reid mentioned that some of the characters from O Little Town will be making an appearance in The Mulligans of Mt. Jefferson.  You should check it out!  Now, I am not pushing something on you that I am not willing to do.  I rushed right out to Amazon and picked up a copy for my Kindle, thereby breaking my own rule to not make any book purchases this year.  I think I was just a little bit overwhelmed by the awesomeness of his celebrity.  Tee-hee!

So pardon me as I dance around the room singing, "Don Reid of the Statler Brothers e-mailed me!  He liked my review!  My six degrees of separation to the country music world has been cut tremendously!"  Wow, that is a wordy little ditty to sing!
