Garage Band

I like me some music.  A little jazz, a little country, some rock, classical, etc.  I'm pretty crazy about all kinds of music.  And, I like hearing things I've never heard before from little-known groups.  Enter GarageBand .  For people like me, it's a chance to review and download songs.  For musicians (not like me), it's a chance to get * a lot * of people listening to your music and giving a critique or two.

Here's how it works.  You listen to two songs from the same genre head to head.  You have to listen to at least 90 seconds of the song and then write a review.  The best reviews give helpful criticisms, whether good or bad, with detailed explanations.  The reviews are expected to be around 50-60 words, a breeze for blabby bloggers like us.  You also have to answer a couple of multiple choice questions and choose which of the two songs you like the best.  Easy-Peasy!  You are rated on your reviews from 1-11.  Your review is rated by a band member and a random member of the GB community.  It is also judged on quality and quantity.  So, even if you don't say the sweetest things about the songs, it won't make too much of a difference in your score.  AND, the band can choose your review to be a Signature Review - so far two of mine have been chosen!

Best thing ever - free music!  I like that even better than getting my opinions out there.
