So I am an inherently lazy person. BTW, is that how you spell inherently? I'm too lazy to get up and find a dictionary. Anyhow, I used to carry a book with me everywhere. After all, I am a crazy reader, why wouldn't I? But alas, my shoulder got tired. It wouldn't be so bad if I just read paperbacks, but some of these books are TOMES! I'd carry them to work and back, shopping and back, dinner and back, just in case I got a chance to read. Finally, lazy Susan took over. (It bothers me that there is a piece of furniture named after me and it has to be lazy. I mean, there isn't a chair called a Sloppy Molly, or a bed called a Drunken Dan, now is there?) So, the lazy me said, "Dammit! I'm tired of carrying a book all the time!" And reader me said, "Well, I *have* to have something to read!" The argument went back and forth for some time, and it was quite tiring. We eventually came to an agreement because someone was going to lock us, I mean me, up for arguing with myself.
So, there are now three. Three books. THREE books at a time! I have never understood how people can do that. I didn't think I had the attention span for it. Wouldn't I confuse the stories? And the I argued with myself (again with the arguing with myself? Perhaps we need a counselor?) that I can keep track of numerous TV shows, why not books? So, I did it. One book for work. One for the car. One for home. So far, so good. Of course, my rate of finishing books is going WAY DOWN, but it was anyhow. And this isn't a competition, now is it??? (BTW, I lost the competition. I was down in reads for 2008. I have shamed myselves....all of us.) Oh yeah, I said it WASN'T a competition.
Wish me luck. I hope I don't start thinking the Vietnamese in Work Book are joining up with the Nazis in Car Book and stalking the poor ex-con in Home Book. That poor guy!

It's so much easier when you finally just give in to your other selves and stop arguing! ;)
