BOOK REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: The Search by Iris Johansen - CLOSED

Sarah Patrick and her golden lab Monty are one of the best search-and-rescue pairs in the business. That's exactly why John Logan wants them, has to have them. A key employee of his has been kidnapped in South America - the kidnapping has nothing to do with the employee and everything to do with Logan. Once he forces Sarah into the job, Logan realizes the grave danger he has exposed Sarah and Monty to. Now he'll do everything he can to protect her from the constant threat of his past - whether she likes it or not.

This book is part of Johansen's Eve Duncan series - sort of. Eve and Joe Quinn are in the book, but merely as extras, side-line players. Think of The Search as an off-shoot of the Duncan series. That being said, I really don't think the reader needs to have read the earlier books to make sense of The Search (or any of Johansen's other books). She does a great job of creating separate stories, even when using the same characters.

I really liked this book. Logan's character has always been a favorite of mine. He's a strong and powerful man who (sometimes reluctantly) can accept a strong woman. Logan, Sarah and Monty (yes, he's an important part of the story!) create a fierce unit together, protecting each other from the outside forces that press in. My rating: 4/5.

This book can be yours! A winner will be chosen randomly 12/3 from the comments below. Since the title is The Search, tell me of something you lose constantly - or your most memorable search for something or someone! For instance, I've always been one to lose one earring from a set. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing half a set today in my 2nd piercing because one earring fell out of my ear - somewhere. That has been happening to me since I first got my ears pierced when I was 10!

I constantly lose my keys. Hubby thinks I have lost my mind. I just call it middle age, lol. I have a nice great big pink keyfob now, so they are a bit easier to spot. But this past week I misplaced them 3 times so far! Would love to win this book, it sounds very good!

When my son was small he had a lovey. It went missing one day while my husband was out of town. I went into a panic and searched everywhere. When I couldn't find it, we went and bought a substitute. Several days later, I found it in the microwave (this was when microwaves were big and sat on the counter.) I'd like a chance to win this book. Thanks! milou2ster(at)gmail.com

I've never read any of her books before! I lose things constantly but the most important thing I've ever lost was not only my birth certificate but my social security card too. I still haven't found them. I seriously think hubby placed them somewhere (he's always the reason I lose things lol!)...

I've never lost any earrings before but about three years ago I stopped wearing them and now I'd have to get re-pierced first :(

I keep losing my spectacles. I have lost so many. Right now, I am spectacle-less (that should be a word). Though i can see without them, it strains my eyes. And they are expensive too. I think I should tie my specs to a string and put them around my neck, but that would make me look like a dork.

Anyway, Please enter me if international.

Oddly enough I keep losing my measuring spoons. I keep buying new sets and then one goes missing (coincidently the same one that went missing from the last set.) I look through all my drawers and can’t find them anywhere. I come up with about a dozen ¼ teaspoons and not a single teaspoon. I have no idea what could be happening to them. Do you think it could be imps? Not a very interseting story I'm afraid but I hope I can enter anyway. Thanks.

This sounds like a great book. I would love my own copy!
I already lost my purse this morning. I looked high and low and finally found it. Then once that crisis was solved, I had to find my keys in there. That took another 4 minutes! That is why I always wake up an extra 15 minutes early!
